Wipe down the luggage with a damp cloth. For ABS, polycarbonate, and other plastic hard shells, use a mild soap and water mixture to remove dirt and grime. Avoid abrasive cleaners, as they can scratch the surface. For tougher stains, use a specialized luggage cleaner or a mixture of baking soda and water to gently scrub the area. Test any cleaner on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn't damage the finish. Some hard sided luggage can benefit from a polish to keep it looking new. Use a silicone-based spray or luggage polish that's appropriate for the material of your suitcase. Again, test on a small area first.
Always lift your luggage by the handle and not by the telescoping handle. Avoid dragging your luggage over rough surfaces to prevent damage to wheels and the bottom of the suitcase. Store your hard sided luggage in a cool, dry place. If possible, store it upright or ensure nothing heavy is placed on top of it to avoid deformation. Consider storing it with a moisture absorber inside to prevent musty smells.
Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the luggage surface gently. For general cleaning, a mild soap and water mixture can be effective. Treat stains as soon as possible. Use a stain remover appropriate for the fabric type, but always test it on a small, inconspicuous area first. For oil-based stains, a grease-fighting dish soap can be effective. For thorough cleaning, mix a small amount of mild detergent with warm water and use a soft brush or cloth to gently scrub the fabric. Rinse with a clean, damp cloth and allow the luggage to air dry completely before storing.
Use a vacuum with a brush attachment to remove dust and loose debris from the interior. Clean spills and stains by applying a mild soap solution with a sponge or cloth. Rinse with a clean, damp cloth and dry thoroughly. To eliminate odors, you can use baking soda or an odor-eliminating spray designed for fabrics. Leave the baking soda inside the luggage for at least 24 hours before vacuuming it out.
